The Aranui 5 voyage to Tahiti’s Marquesas Islands is an 11 night voyage so booking the right cabin grade for you is important. With 15 grades of cabins from the dormitory through to the Presidential Suite, it’s easy to not know which one will be best for you. Let’s take a look.
Dormitory and Class C Grades – Think youth hostel style accommodation with four upper and four lower bunks with shared facilities. They may be co-ed.
Singles Stateroom – These cabins are for solo travellers who prefer their own sole use room, without paying a single supplement. They have a porthole and your own bathroom facilities, however at just 9 sq metres, they’re very cosy!
Double Stateroom – This grade is generally the minimum grade we sell here at Ultimate Cruising. This stateroom comes equipped with either a King size bed or two single beds, your own bathroom and a porthole.
There is also a Double Stateroom with Obstructed View grade. While the cabin is essentially the same, it means the porthole is obscured by structural aspects of the ship so you won’t get a clear view outside.
For those travelling with children, there is also the Quadruple Stateroom which is slightly bigger and has a Queen Sized bed and two bunk beds.
Deluxe & Superior Deluxe - By far our most popular cabin grade, the Deluxe and Superior Deluxe grades have a floor to ceiling window/ranch slider with your own private balcony. The Superior Deluxe is slightly bigger, allowing for a couple of chairs for additional seating space. Both grades have either King or two Twin beds. Because these cabin grades are in high demand and there are not many of them, we recommend booking early.
Junior Suite with Balcony & Junior Suite Without Balcony – These rooms are slightly bigger again. The Junior Suite without Balcony is slightly bigger than the Junior Suite with Balcony (19 sqm versus 16 sqm) but you get two windows instead of the balcony/floor-to-ceiling window. It really depends whether you prefer to have more room internally, or would prefer to have that space as a balcony.
Premium Suite – This is where the style changes. The Premium Suite has a separate bedroom area and living area. Note that it is not walled off –the divider is a decorative filigree screen. You also get a private balcony with this cabin grade. The balcony sizes are consistent for all those grades with balconies except the Royal and Presidential Suites.
Royal Suite – These suites are located on the corners of the ship, meaning you have both windows on one wall and a floor-to-ceiling window/balcony on another. They’re bigger (double the size of the Double Stateroom and nearly double the size of the Deluxe) with a separate living area (similar to the Premium Suites) and there is a walk-in closet area complete with desk. The balcony is larger (9 sqm compared to 4 sqm) with room for both table and chairs and loungers.
There is also an option with Obstructed View in this grade. You can enjoy the size and facilities of the Royal Suite, however the windows or the deck area are obstructed.
Presidential Suite – The crème-de-la-crème of Aranui 5 accommodations, the Presidential Suite boasts 41 square metres, with 3 separate rooms – a bedroom complete with walk in wardrobe, a seating area with bar and a living area with sofa, chairs and desk. There is also a second bathroom. The private balcony is 12 square metres (nearly the same size as the Deluxe Stateroom!), with two separated areas so you really do have plenty of room to spread out and enjoy!
The Premium, Royal and Presidential Suites also come with extra bonuses such as additional laundry vouchers etc.
