In our opinion, 2024 and 2025 are a great time to cruise. The cruise industry has taken a bit longer to recover post Covid. While people were keen to jump on a plane to go and see family once the borders opened, expensive airfares made going on holiday a little more prohibitive. Many people were also hesitant to get back on board straight after Covid, instead waiting to see whether the virus would disappear or how the next couple of years would pan out.
The result was that while cruise ships were ready and waiting to set sail, with stringent hygiene protocols in place, they were sailing at reduced capacity while people regained confidence. This means we are still seeing some exceptional offers in the market place. Reduced fares, second person travelling at reduced rates, added extras like beverage packages/wifi/ship credits etc as well as flight credits are all on offer. There has never been such an array of value adds!
However, the ships are starting to fill up as people have discovered that cruise ships pose no bigger risk than hotels or airports and that preset-day Covid is very different to the Covid that reared its ugly head four years ago. This means that the deals we are currently seeing probably won’t be around for much longer.
We’re also seeing airfares start to drop again, in some cases nearly back to the pre-covid levels. Holiday packages are becoming more attractive and more people are putting some plans in place.
It really is a great time to get your bookings in. Jump on the decreasing airfares, lock in a great cruise offer with plenty of extras thrown in and get out and explore the world!
