It’s a thing. More and more people are selling up and setting sail to spend their retirement exploring the world, living the good life and never having to do a moment’s housework again! If that sounds blissful but a not quite attainable, a world cruise is the next best thing.
You would think world cruises would only attract a limited number of people, but each year these cruises sell out and often in a very short time. World cruises are made up of multiple one way smaller cruises – you just stay on for the full duration. Unpack once, make yourself at home, get to know your cabin attendant and you’re away! Months of exploring new cities and new countries with new experiences, new food and new people!
Being on a longer cruise means you don’t feel that pressure to do all the activities, sample all the menu items or run yourself ragged making the most of every minute on board because you’ve only got a short time. You can relax, take your time, find your own special nook, stroll the decks at leisure, try out all the different dining options, eat in your stateroom if you would like a quiet night and, if a destination doesn’t really appeal, stay on board while everyone else gets off and enjoy the ship’s facilities pretty much all to yourself!
There are several cruise lines offering world cruises, with varying degrees of luxury (and spend) and differing itineraries.
